P.A.R.R. 5
The 5th Annual Pedal Along a Rail Route, P.A.R.R. 5, is an annual event in effort to raise funds for Our Daily Bread, Nelson's hot meal program.
Sponsored by First Baptist Church and Kootenay Christian Fellowship of Nelson and Castlegar Christian Fellowship of Castlegar.
Date; July 24th, 2010
Cost: $50 entry fee or $100 in pledges.
Starts in Nelson: 7:15am transportation from Central School Gym Parking Lot (Ward and Mill Street).
Starts in Castlegar: 8:15am transportation from Castlegar Christian Fellowship (1801 Connors Road)
Ride begins around 9:00am from the Paulson Detour road and arrives at the Celgar Mill 4-5 hours later.
A sign up form is available here for you to download and fill in. Please drop your completed form off at Kootenay Christian Fellowship - 812 Stanley St. Nelson BC. All cheques or money orders should be made to Our Daily Bread. Space is limited, and will be granted in the order that sign up forms and waivers are recieved.
Ride lasts about 4 to 5 hours mostly downhill. This is not a race, but a ride over trestles, through tunnels and with great views over the Arrow Lake. There is one tunnel that has a curve in it, and is quite dark, a good flashlight is required.
At the conclusion of the ride, Castlegar Christian Fellowship will provide a hot meal, Beef in a Bun and refreshments.
Return trip to Nelson provided.
