KCF History
Spring of 1991 Pastor Jim Reimer and a small group of Christians from Kootenay Lake Community Church in Crawford Bay began to have Friday night meetings in the Slumber Lodge (Baker Street Inn) for the purpose of developing a congregation in Nelson.
Eventually the meeting time changed from Friday nights to Sunday afternoons and then to Sunday mornings.
In 1995 Pastor Jim gave full time attention to developing a congregation in Nelson. He left the pastoral work at Crawford Bay to evangelize and coordinate ministry in Nelson.
The congregation grew and purchased their present facility in January 1996. KOOTENAY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP is a diverse socioeconomic community with a myriad of age and people groups. KCF is active in the community, assisting people in their human struggles, and helping people connect with spiritual realities within the Kootenay region and through out the world. Through God’s power, it is common to hear testimonies of lives changed and people healed of emotional and life debilitating problems.
