Divorce Care
No matter what the circumstances, divorce is a painful process for most people. Anyone who has ever been through a divorce knows the pain and the loneliness that goes along with it. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be that way.
Kootenay Christian Fellowship is sponsoring and facilitating a support group called "DivorceCare" for those who have experienced a divorce or separation. DivorceCare is a weekly support group and seminar that meets every week The first session will begin in Nelson on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 7-8:30 p.m. and in Castlegar September 17, 7 – 8:30 p.m. DivorceCare is a 13-week program but is structured so that participants can join at any time.
Pastor Ken Bruvold and his wife Karen, facilitators of DivorceCare welcome anyone who has been separated or divorced for a long time or a very short time. “Our goal,” says Pastor Ken, “is not to get you to come to our church, to contribute money or sell you anything. We understand how deeply people and families are hurt by divorce, and we want help one touched by this painful experience to be whole again. DivorceCare is a place where hurting people can find help in putting their lives back together again.” Pastor Ken has pastored for the past 22 years, is experienced in counseling, and has a heart to reach out and help the hurting.
There will be a small fee of $50.00 which helps us to cover our expenses. A bursary is available to help with those who would find the tuition fees a burden. For those with children we are offering child care while you are in the sessions.
